OUR GOALS & PURPOSES

Uptown Community Democrats offers a political home to Northern Manhattan residents, where the Club's mission is to nurture new leadership for Northern Manhattan, instill ethics and a sense of shared purpose in its members, and promote and support accountable, honest, and transparent political leadership for Northern Manhattan and New York.

1. Provide a political home for a diverse group of independent thinkers representative of the interests of the full community of Northern Manhattan with honesty, integrity, and transparency.

2. Develop and nurture political and community leadership that advances democracy, promotes diversity, and builds community power through civic education and engagement, community organizing, and coalition-building.

3. Elect and strengthen quality political representation of Northern Manhattan that is responsive and community centered, and ensure our political leaders promote transparency and are held accountable to the people and club values.

4. Work collaboratively to promote and ensure policies and services that result in affordable, equitable, diverse, healthy, safe, thriving, and compassionate opportunities for our community.
